Morning Snack

Today's morning snack is very simple and very easy. I am eating half of a whole grain bagel as a small snack, I know it is more like breakfast but I skipped breakfast this morning so I figured if I only eat half of the bagel it can be my snack. I just toasted the bagel and spread a teaspoon of cream cheese on top. This snack is the easiest and most convenient thing to make. Eat one of your favorite bagels with your choice of topping and enjoy your snack!

Morning Snack

This snack is simple and so delicious. I decided to try a little experiment, I am a big fan of stuffed croissants and tried to make my own version of a strawberry stuffed croissant, I took a croissant and split it in half, I mixed together low fat cream cheese and strawberry preserves and spread it on both halves of the croissant. After i put the cream cheese mixture on the croissant I baked it in the toaster oven for five minutes. I let the croissant cool then added fresh sliced strawberries in the middle. It was so delicious, I wish I had thought of it before!

Morning Snack

This morning's snack is more of a late breakfast than a snack. I had a craving for pancakes so I decided to make strawberry pancakes. I used a regular boxed pancake mix and added fresh strawberries into the batter, you can put any type of fruit into these pancakes I just happened to have fresh, sweet berries. The pancakes came out fluffy and delicious, just remember not to over mix your batter otherwise the pancakes will not be light and fluffy instead they will become very chewy. Pancakes are the perfect meal they are filling and satisfying, create your own pancakes today and enjoy!

Morning Snack

Cottage cheese with mixed tropical fruit is a delicious and healthy morning snack. It is easy to whip together and is very light and refreshing. Take 1/4 cup of your favorite cottage cheese and top it with fresh tropical fruits or canned fruits. I used canned this morning because I like to take a little bit of the liquid and mix it in with the cottage cheese in order to add a little more sweetness and tropical fruit flavor. Try this simple and easy snack that will leave you satisfied and energized until lunch. Enjoy!

Morning Snack

Yogurt with honey, cinnamon, and raisins is a cool and creamy morning treat. The weather is getting warmer and the days are getting longer, no one wants to eat anything that is too hot and filling, in the summer we have a tendency to eat lighter foods that won't weight us down all day. When I think of summer I think about foods that are light and fresh such as yogurt, fresh fruits, and fresh vegetables. Summer is the perfect time of year to enjoy natures freshest ingredients. Yogurt with honey and cinammon is a nice refreshing pick me up. It tastes a little bit like vanilla frozen yogurt and is delicious when it is mixed with your favorite fruit. I like to mix the yogurt with raisins because I enjoy the texture it brings to the yogurt, but try this out with some of your favorite ingredients and enjoy!

Morning snack

Strawberries with chocolate chips and walnuts is almost like having dessert but is truly a delicious little pick me up. Slice up a few ripe strawberries and throw in some chocolate chips or a small pieces of your favorite candy bar. I like to top the whole thing off with some walnuts or some granola for a little added crunch. It is a sweet snack that will give you a little boost of energy.

Daily recap

  • Sometimes you want a light ant healthy lunch, my recipe for a warm pasta saladwill leave you satisfied and ready for the rest of your day. I hope you try it and enjoy it!
  • What do you do when it is laundry day? Try to hide from your friends of course! It may be a little embarrasing but when you walk down stairs in a clean bath robe it is a lot better than your friends seeing you in old sweats and stained sweatshirts.
  • Simon gets in trouble again, but this time it was not intentional. He claims he was not rolling his eyes at Chris Richardson for giving a shout out to his friends at Virginia Tech, he was just rolling his eyes at Chris' performance.

Daily Recap

  • Peanut Butter and Jelly is a great morning snack. It will revive you and get you over the slump after your caffeine buzz from your morning coffee wears off. It will give you energy and if you skipped breakfast the peanut butter will give you all the protein you missed from your morning eggs or oatmeal.
  • Pita Pizza is a healthier and lighter version of the traditional cheesy slice. It is a way to be creative and use your imagine to make whatever you are craving. The toppings could range anywhere from cheese and tomato to apple and gorgonzola cheese. The pita can be used as a dessert shell as well, spread some butter on it then sprinkle some cinnamon and sugar, bake until golden brown then top with your favorite sweet treats. As I said the options are endless and it gives you a chance to play with your food like you were a little kid.
  • If you are going to burn something popcorn and tater tots are the worst things to burn. I had a craving today and decided to make some tater tots, it is a very random food to crave but when you really want something you just have to have it. I got distracted and forgot about them until I smelled them burning. The whole kitchen got a little smoky and of course the whole house started to smell like burnt popcorn. It is the hardest smell in the world to get rid of. I tried opening the doors, spraying air freshener, and lighting candles but nothing seemed to work. Finally I tried Febreeze, thank god it worked now instead of burnt popcorn the whole house smells like laundry.
  • Heather Mills and Sanjaya are my picks for dude and dudette of the day. Heather gave everyone the show they have been waiting for on last nights "Dancing With the Stars," and Sanjaya has America waiting in anticipation to see what his hair will look like on tonights "American Idol."
  • A retired Couple from Queens finally made it to Arizona. The elderly couple took a cab from New York to Arizona just so their precious cat's would not have to sit in an airplane hanger for a few hours. I am sure a long and probably smelly cab ride seemed like a much better option.
