Rachel Ray is a busy girl, in the past year she her career has sky rocketed, she hosts four shows for the Food Network: 30 Minute Meals, Rachel Ray's Tasty Travels, $40 a day, and other Food Network specials not to mention her daytime emmy nominated show "The Rachel Ray Show". Rachel is all over the place and her newest gig is a Dunkin Donuts spokeswoman. How does she do all of these things and still have time for her husband, entertainment lawyer John Cusimano, she doesn't! Rachel admits to not spending a lot of time with her husband but says that it does not bother either of them, her marriage is a happy balance for her and she does not have to try very hard to make things work for her husband . John and Rachel both have crazy schedules so when they actually do get to spend time together they truly enjoy each others company while they lie in bed with their "kid" Isaboo.

Something I have been wondering about.

I am a big fan of food, I am sure to a certain extent we all are. Everyone has their favorite meal or their favorite restaurant. What I don't understand is what the deal with cooking shows such as 30 Minute Meals and Quick Fix Meals is. The Food Network is a very popular channel and many people tune into it to learn new techniques and new recipes but 30 Minute Meals are not that hard to make. When you think about it pretty much anything you want to make can be made within 30 minutes. Rachel Ray became infamous for her 30 minute recipes but everyone has their own 30 minute recipes. I give her a lot of credit she definitely comes up with some great ideas but so do many other people. I think I am just bitter that she became super famous for the idea of 30 Minute Meal, why couldn't it have been me!

Recipe of the day

Today's recipe will take your taste buds to Spain. Rachel Ray found a way to make Spanish Style Pork Chops this recipe will have your mouth watering, the pork chops are served delicious roasted red pepper sauce which is filled with the Spanish style sausage Chorizo, if that does not sound good enough on its own these delicious chops are served along side of Manchego Cheesy Rice. You truly can not get much better this meal. It sounds like it is a complicated meal it is not the recipe is very user friendly and is definitely worth trying out. It is a perfect way to spice up your week, it is so easy to make a bland pork chop and some rice why not try enhance the flavor. It will make you smile and will give a typical meal a delicious new twist. Enjoy!

Daily recap

Sorry guys it was a slow day! but here is my recap.

  • Angelina got her new son Pax Thien Jolie , who is now happy and healthy and at home with the Brangelina clan.
  • Rosie did it again, it might not be as bad as her comments before, but she is still mocking "American Idol" she made fun of Sanjay Malakar today on "The View" because apparently he is tone def. I think we should all be able to judge for ourselves.
  • Britney is addicted again. She drinks close to a case of coke a day. Isn't rehab supposed to help you get over an addiction.
  • Rachel Ray is more than just "30 Minute Meals" She has gotten sevenDaytime Emmy nods, which include best morning show and best host. I guess it pays to be a goofy chef who love EVOO!
  • Regis is out of surgery and is fine. He will be out of commission for almost five weeks. Poor Kelly what is she going to do without her "Big Daddy" for all of you that watch "Live With Regis and Kelly" you know what I am talking about.
  • Sandra Bullock got her revenge today on "The Ellen Degeneres Show" she broke a bottle over Ellen's head, I definitely don't think it was as bad as her eating a pepper but maybe it made her feel a little better.

Rachel gets a nod.

Rachel Ray is cleaning up, She got a Daytime Emmy nod for her morning talk show. She got 7 nominations including best show and best host. Her show has only been around since last fall so it is a huge deal for her to be nominated. She is competing with shows that have been around for years such as "The View" and "Live With Regis and Kelly." It is a huge accomplishment for her, who knew being a goofy chef could lead to an Emmy award, Good Luck!

Recipe of the Day

Today's episode of 30 Minute Meals is all about fast and quick takeout favorites. Chinese food is on the menu today. Two of the most common take out cuisines are Italian and Chinese. Well today instead of picking up the phone and ordering out, make your own version of take out at home. Spicy Shrimp and Bok Choy Noodle Bowls is a healthier version of shrimp lo mein. It is a spicy and delicious twist on a common Chinese take out favorite. For me the best part of this meal would be the Scallion and Egg Pancakes. Scallion pancakes are one of my favorite foods and Rachel Ray's version is not as greasy as you would get from a take out restaraunt, which is the best part because you can eat a lot more of them. Try re creating a favorite take out meal at home and I guarantee those menus will find there way into the trash. Enjoy!

"Reno 911" hits daytime television

The cast of " Reno 911" was on the " Rachel Ray" show this morning. They were hilarious, since Rachel Ray is obviously a lover of cooking so she had the cast on the show to share some recipes with her. Well the tables were turned on Rachel. The cast decided to cook for her officer style. They cooked hot dogs with tazer guns and flavored them up with pepper spray. Than they made a nice milkshake with olive oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, and donuts. Blend it all up with some ice and milk and that will make for one delicious milk shake. I would never ever put that in my mouth. I DON"T recommend trying this recipe!

Rachel Ray's 30 minute meals is one of my favorite shows on television. I try to watch it everyday at 2:30. For me cooking is fun it is a valid reason to play with your food. It gives you a chance to explore and learn new things by using all five of your senses. Rachel Ray makes cooking fun and easy. I will admit she seems like she is a little crazy, I mean come on no one can be that happy and goofy all the time, but her technique and shortcuts make it easy to create a meal in under 30 minutes. She can make something as ordinary as pasta and turn it into a fancy and tasty meal in no time. Her shortcuts would never let anyone know you made a dish in half an hour that should have taken 3 hours to prepare. Some of my favorite recipes include Spaghetti all' Elsa, Mushroom Lovers French Bread pizza, and Grilled honey lime chicken sandwiches. These dishes are simple and delicious to make. Her shortcuts such as keeping a garbage bowl next to where you are cooking sounds ridiculous but it truly saves a lot of time. It is a great show to watch and replicate to have a great meal every night.
